Late in the Day

Soft, billowing clouds tower above the coastline. The few touches of light are reserved for the clouds in this uplifting and yet somehow grounding painting. There is a sense of freedom here that almost necessitates taking a deep breath and melting into the moment.

My aesthetic is ever-changing. Ethereal-light-reflective and playful one moment, industrial-modern-gritty-urban the next. I find it so difficult to limit myself to any one style because I like to be surrounded by contrasting elements in my own environment. A painting should evoke emotion in its owner every time he or she looks at it. When I create my paintings, I envision them in someone’s home and hope that each piece brings as much joy to its new owner as it did to me during its creation. less
